Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Entry-Level Staff Accountant/Operations/Administrative professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting and operational tasks that are crucial to our day-to-day functions. You will work directly with the Controller, assisting with payroll, tracking invoices, bookkeeping, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in solving problems that arise in a small company setting, including handling human resource issues and IT challenges. It is important that the candidate has flexibility and a willingness to take on non-accounting tasks as necessary. This is an onsite position, not remote.
Responsibilities
- Payroll Management: Work with payroll processing company, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
- Invoice Tracking: Track and manage invoices, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded and reconciled accurately.
- Bookkeeping: Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Accounts Payable: Assist in managing accounts payable, ensuring timely payments.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, statements, and budgets as required by management.
- Operational Support: Work closely with the operations team to address and resolve issues related to human resources, IT, and other operational challenges.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all financial and operational tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations across the company.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in accounting and operations.
Job Requirements
- Education or experience in the field of accounting.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
- Experience or interest in human resources and IT support is a bonus.
- Appetite to take on and solve a wide range of tasks including the mundane.
