Our 2024 Summer Engineering Internship Program is designed to provide mission-driven students an opportunity to network and gain hands-on and real-world experience. Throughout the course of 10 weeks, you will work within the Engineering Department with other Engineering Interns to develop an application in order to improve the experience for our internal and external stakeholders. These applications heavily contribute to fulfilling the mission of Findhelp. You will work closely with the engineering teams and their stakeholders in order to understand the needs of the end user, receive feedback and learn about the necessary workflows.


Additionally, there will be opportunities to learn more about AI, Front End, Microservices, FinOps or other topics within working groups led by engineers within the organization.

Our applications are built with Python backend APIs, React front end and hosted in GCP. Some of our newer applications utilize cloud functions, Cloud Run and task queues.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other engineering interns, full time engineers and other departments within findhelp
  • Participate in Scrum Events such as sprint planning, daily standup and sprint retrospectives
  • Learn and apply technical concepts for each ticket assigned throughout the project
  • Work with your team to break down project requirements into deliverable units of work and estimate task complexity
  • Research and understand needs of the end user
  • Demo completed features to engineering team and stakeholders


Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree with a focus on computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be available to participate in a full-time internship between June-August
  • All interns must be within a commuting distance to the Austin or Madison office location for the duration of the internship.
