Data Science Co-op

Strategy and Planning Investigate and recommend improvements for the data analysis process Research tools and methodologies/approaches to identify those that can best help serve the needs of clients Design and Deployment Participate in project discovery through requirements gathering, analysis, design documentation, and impact analysis for model design Plan and organize tasks, report progress, and coordinate with other team members Design and create data science models according to project requirements Operational Management Create and maintain design documentation Contribute and implement model sustainability Incidental Functions Assist with other projects as necessary to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the team.

Formal Education & Certification Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in IT or a Business-related field (i.e., finance, supply chain, etc.) with a strong interest in IT and Digital Technology. Must be 18 years of age. Must have a high school degree or equivalent (i.e., GED). Preferred classroom and/or experience in one or more programming languages such as SQL, C#, C++, Java, Visual Basic, HTML, Python, Open CV (Computer Vision), Mat Lab, etc. Knowledge & Experience Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Basic Familiarity with Python (or R) and SQL programming languages Basic experience in creating models and/or simulations Basic experience in Image Processing using libraries such as Open CV (Computer Vision) Personal Attributes Good verbal and written communication skills Good at learning and researching new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly Good at working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities Motivated to learn new tools and technologies Ability to organize and assist in the execution of tasks Ability to unpack complex objectives into logically ordered tactical steps
