The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking a professional to fill the position of Programmer I within the Office of Information Technology. The successful candidate will serve as an application designer and developer in a Microsoft application development environment under the mentorship of a programmer/analyst and the supervision of the Manager of Application Development. Responsibilities

Assist programmer/analysts to gather and analyze requirements for new or updated processes and applications. Efficiently design, develop, implement, and maintain applications using current Microsoft development technologies and Javascript development libraries, either individually or as part of a team. Collaborate with a database administrator and a programmer/analyst as a data analyst to design and create database structures including tables, procedures, views and functions. Thoroughly test and document both applications and databases. Train and support court staff members in the use of developed applications.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related discipline. Familiarity of Microsoft application development technologies and Javascript development libraries is preferred. The ability to perform basic data analysis with supervisor oversight and familiarity with/general understanding of TSQL. Excellent problem-solving skills that demonstrate a logical thought process. The ability to interact and effectively communicate with supervisor, co-workers, judges, justices, attorneys and/or the public. Strong writing skills and the ability to construct, complete and concise sentences using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. The ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information.
