Job Description
As an Associate Engineer, you will be accountable for the day-to-day maintenance and support of the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Distribution SCADA system and required data interfaces.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will become a key resource required to work in parallel with the wider grid modernization organization to ensure consistency between developing technologies and ADMS requirements. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of system applications such as Closed Loop Fault Isolation and Service Restoration (CL FISR), Voltage Var Optimization (VVO) and Volt Var Control (VVC), Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR). In addition to providing interface support and GIS Feeder Modeling support.You will:
- Support Control Center operations and the use of ADMS applications.
- Provide engineering and technical support to the Control Centers for the safe, economic, and reliable operation of the electric generation, transmission, and substation system.
- Interface with various divisions and departments in resolving and tracking the progress of resolutions to operating problems in support of reliable system operation.
- Provide technical support to the Control Centers in the resolution of system failures and equipment problems to ensure reliable system performance.
- Develop and maintain systems, designs, specifications, standards, models, and procedures to support design, solutions and enhance safety, efficiency and operability and support local decision-making.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
- Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025
- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)
