Job Description
By joining the Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Branch, Permit Section as an Environmental Engineer Technologist I in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to perform engineering work in the application review and inspection of solid waste landfills to determine compliance with environmental engineering standards, laws, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assists in evaluations of engineering technical reviews of solid waste landfill applications using engineering principles and best practices to determine compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Attends landfill construction inspections, including subgrade proof-rolls, clay and synthetic liner, and leachate collection system inspections.
- Assists in compiling computer generated site-specific environmental permits using Advantage Regulatory Management (ARM).
- Attends meetings with other department staff, owners and operators, citizens, consultants, other governmental agencies, and others.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering approved by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.
