Entry Level Engineer/Analyst

We are seeking driven entry-level engineers (MS and/or PhD degree) to help grow our core and emerging practice areas in energy (renewable and conventional), aerospace/defense, and digital solutions.  SES provides a broad range of specialized design and analysis services to numerous industries.  This person will work in multidisciplinary teams supporting SES core and emerging practice areas solving challenging problems including component design/analysis, fluid mechanics, data analysis, integrity assessments, failure analysis, repair solutions and remediation.  A strong balance of technical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Design/analyze various systems/components using fundamental techniques, FEA, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, etc.; provide actionable recommendations and guidance
  • Develop tools that automate tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Support Project Managers to meet project goals and deliverables
  • Support the design and execution of full-scale testing projects (as needed)
  • Stay informed regarding new technologies and improvements in industry to maintain proficiency Participate in project reviews internally and externally
  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and technical reports
  • Preparation and oversight of drawings, procedures, manuals, etc. as required
  • Assist with internal R&D initiatives as needed
  • Contribute to the growth of the Company through participation in technical associations and presentation of conference papers/presentations
  • Adherence to internal quality management system policies and procedures

Job Requirements

  • Have (or will soon achieve) MS or PhD in Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Strong academic background in mathematics, statistics, physics, and algorithm development (required)
  • Background in computational modeling and simulation (required)
  • Ability to balance engineering judgment with business priorities and constraints to deliver high-value work products (preferred)
  • Ability to research and develop sound technical solutions and skills (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical problems to people familiar with and unfamiliar with the technical details (required)
  • Ability to work independently but leverage input in complex problem solving (required)
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities (required)
  • Desire to solve real-world problems (required)
  • Good people skills including effective listening skills (required)
  • Willing and able to travel as needed (10% or less of time expected) (required)
