Entry-Level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer - Water Resources

Job Description
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an exciting position available for an entry-level civil/geotechnical engineer to work in our water resources team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include
- Assisting with analyzing and designing new and renovated water retaining structures including, but not limited to, embankment dams and levees
- Designing sheet pile and foundations
- Performing stability, seepage, and settlement modeling of embankment dams and levees
- Performing field observations and construction inspection (some travel will be required) for dams and levees
- Preparing reports and design computations
- Developing plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
Job Requirements
The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil or geotechnical engineering from an accredited college or university or be able to obtain degree within nine months of hire date.
The ideal candidate will have experience or proficiency with any/all of the following:
- Coursework including slope stability, seepage analysis, and foundation design
- Software programs including Microsoft Excel, Rocscience, GeoStudio, or UTEXAS
- Subsurface investigations
- Soils laboratory testing
- Construction inspection
- Construction materials testing
The ideal candidate will also have a master’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering, and/or an EIT certification.
