The Great Falls District is recruiting for a Civil Engineer Specialist in Great Falls. Positions in this bureau or district are responsible for conducting in-depth engineering and analysis, administer contracts, oversee projects and project design, and may serve as a lead worker. Work is assigned through instruction on specific engineering objectives and direction and the incumbent determines the best solution based on established engineering guidelines, knowledge and skills. Completed work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Competencies: Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering technology and the methods and practices of highway construction engineering. Skill in project management and evaluating engineering designs. Employees in this position may be required to work in an office setting and outdoors and may be required to work in all climatic conditions on outdoor assignments.
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or a related degree. Related degrees are Environmental Engineering, Geologic/Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Science. Prior work experience is not required for entry level. Applicants with work experience will be given first consideration.
- Successful applicant must obtain FE within two years; once the FE is obtained, the incumbent will be removed from the union.
