We’re looking for passionate, aspiring Software Engineers from non-traditional backgrounds to be apprentices in our AsanaUP program. In this program, you will gain the knowledge, tools and skills to succeed in the tech industry over 6-months driven by mentorship from industry professionals. As you progress through your journey, you'll have the chance to transition into a full-time engineering role at Asana. You will be part of a team that is changing work experiences for teams in 200 countries with our leading work management platform. In this role, innovation and continuous improvement is your playground!

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. Responsibilities

  • Drive various projects, exploring product features, testing infrastructure, exploring interaction behaviors or designing data models
  • Embrace Asana's culture of transparency and distributed responsibility, understanding how the business operates and makes decisions
  • Build relationships with your mentor and team, learning through coaching, code reviews, and one-on-one meetings
  • Contribute to maintaining a joyful codebase and company culture

Job Requirements

  • Are a self-taught coder or have attended a coding bootcamp or from non-traditional Software Engineering background
  • Have led large scale coding projects, either during bootcamp or individually
  • Display an eagerness to learn through peers, mentors or independent research
  • Value productivity and wish to help teams collaborate effectively and efficiently
  • Aspire to be a part of an inclusive culture, bringing your whole self to work
  • Demonstrate empathy for end-users and colleagues
